Margaret Ann Hodnett, 89, longtime resident of Mountain Home, passed away Tuesday, May 11, 2021, at Gassville Therapy and Living. She was born on July 4, 1931, in Jack County, Texas. She was the only daughter of Emily Eliza Peaden Light and Roy Anderson Light.

In 1952, Margaret married the widowed Harvey Hodnett. In the bargain she loved and raised his two young sons, David and Donald and added two more sons, Danny and Troy to complete their family. After the family's move to Baxter County, AR, in 1960, Margaret worked at Mary's Cottage Inn Cafe on Hwy. 5 S and at the Homestyle Bakery. She worked at Baxter Lab for 26 years, not only making a living but also making many friends. Margaret lived the last three years of her life at Gassville Therapy and Living, and was assisted by Hospice of the Ozarks during her final weeks.

Margaret will be remembered as a fun loving, kind soul. She was always the life of the party and never met a stranger. She will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her sons, Danny (Kathy) and Troy (Hilda) Hodnett of Mountain home, Don of Springdale; granddaughter, Mary Martin; great grandchildren, Ashley and Mackenzie Martin and great-great granddaughter, Aria.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey; her son, David Hodnett and his wife, Connie Sue; great-grandson, Tyler and Don's son, Langston; brothers, Sam, Dick, and Billy Jack; and by her parents.

Funeral services will be private.
