Wilma L. Culp, Neosho, entered into rest peacefully, surrounded by her family on May 10, 2021 at the age of 90. Wilma was born March 11, 1931, the eldest of five children to Allen Amon and Goldie Gladys (Griffith) Newberry in George, Newton County, Arkansas. She attended and graduated high school at the School of the Ozarks and then obtained her teaching certificate at SMSU. She taught elementary classes at Conway, Missouri before moving to Neosho in 1954. Wilma was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, canning, sewing and taking care of her home and family. She worked in the elections of the Crowder precinct and had been active in 4-H. She loved church and was a member of the Bible Holiness Assembly of God. Every afternoon you would find her listening to a devotional and strengthening her relationship with her Savior, Jesus. Wilma and Billie Bob Culp were married on March 11, 1954 in Granby and he preceded her in death on February 14, 2016. She is survived by five children, Robert (Kim) Culp of Neosho; Billie Gene (Judy) Culp of Neosho; Betty Sue (Harold) Huffman of Omaha, Arkansas; Joe (Sheila) Culp of Neosho and James (Yiyuin) Culp of Wichita, Kansas; two brothers, Wilson Newberry and Larry Newberry; two sisters, Lou Etta Roe and Joyce Whiteley all of Green Forest, Arkansas; twelve grandchildren; ten great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by a grandson, Bryant Culp. Funeral services will be Friday, May 14, 2021 at 1 pm at the Bible Holiness Assembly of God, Pastor Dan Taylor will officiate. Interment will follow in the Macedonia Cemetery with grandchildren serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at a time of visitation Thursday evening from 5:30 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Contributions in memory of Wilma may be made to the Christian education department of Ozark Bible Institute, c/o Clark Funeral Home, PO Box 66; Neosho, MO 64850.
