Ruthie Mae Teague, 83, of Wichita Falls passed away on Saturday, May 8, 2021.
The family will receive friends between 3 and 5 p.m. on Sunday, May 16, 2021 at Owens and Brumley Funeral Home in Wichita Falls. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 17, 2021 at Victory Baptist Church in Wichita Falls with Pastor Ryan Ricker, officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Sill National Cemetery in Elgin, Oklahoma at 2:00 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Owens and Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.
Ruthie was born on February 18, 1938 to the late Marvin Monroe and Addie Bell (Gee) Adams in Bowie, Texas. She volunteered her time on a CB radio routing the truck drivers through Wichita County safely for the Sheriff's Department. She met Gerald Teague through one of those transmissions and after a several dates together, the couple married on March 8, 1997 in Wichita Falls. After moving to Angleton, Texas for more than 10 years, they returned to Wichita Falls to be closer to the family. The couple were members of Victory Baptist Church. Ruthie loved to collect dolls, ceramic figurines. She enjoyed her potted plants and especially drinking her diet Dr. Peppers. "Baby Doll" was her CB name and she will live forever in the hearts of the family and friends.
Along with her parents, Ruthie was preceded in death by son, Robert Lee James; siblings, Robert George Adams, Clara Bell Fields, Nathan Adams, Sadie Owen and Bill Bailey.
She is survived by her husband, Gerald Teague; children, Johnny Lee James and wife, Shirley Fay James and Katherine Lynn Green; sister, Janie Humphrey; several great and great-grandchildren; and many other family members.
