Nathan Monroe Adams, 89, of Wichita Falls went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, April 17, 2021.
The family will receive friends from 3 until 5 p.m. Sunday, April 25, 2021 at Owens and Brumley Funeral Home in Wichita Falls. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, April 26, 2021 at Owens and Brumley Funeral Home in Wichita Falls with Reverend Ron Redding officiating. Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Park.
Nathan was born on July 6, 1931 in Clay County to the late Marion and Addie Bell (Gee) Adams, the oldest son of six children. He was a devoted husband, father, step-father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He married Evelyn Louis Adams on January 24, 1997. During his lifetime, Nathan was involved in many organizations. He was a member of TOPS (Taking Off Pounds Sensibly) Chapter 0024 for 13 years, and a member of Elks Lodge #1105 for 24 years. He also volunteered twice a week for Meals On Wheels of Wichita Falls.
Nathan served on the disaster team, and went on many trips with the local American Red Cross, and the Wichita Archer Clay Association. He was also a member, and deacon, of Lamar Baptist Church. He loved the Lord, and loved praying for his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 22 years Evelyn, step daughter Harriet Holden, and son Larry Adams.
Nathan is survived by daughter Bonnie Keller and husband Bud of Sun City, Arizona; step-son Tommy Barnett and wife LeAn of Wichita Falls; son-in-law Randy Holden; daughter-in-law Betty Adams; nine grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and precious friends.
The family would like to send out a huge thank you to the nursing staff at United Regional Health Care Systems for all of the loving care that you showed Nathan during this difficult time.
