Mrs. Brenda J. Esterly, 76, of Frederick, died Monday, February 20, 2017. She was the daughter of Gladys Main Fagan and Lawrence Edward Fagan, Sr.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Lewis Filler Esterly Jr., nephew, Patrick Ryan Fagan and special friends, Bonnie Hinkle and Ardith Felker.

Brenda was a lifelong active member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church. She was involved over the years with Sunday School, Vacation Church School, Ruth Circle, Dorcus Circle, Covenant Shepherding Group, Bible Study and was a Stephen Minister. She was a graduate of Frederick High School, FMH School of Nursing, attended Hopkins Evening College. Brenda was a Psychiatric instructor for Springfield Hospital and Frederick Community College. She was a Night Supervisor, Assistant Director of Nursing and Director of Nursing at Vindobona Nursing Home. In her spare time, Brenda enjoyed family and friends, piano, needlework, reading and traveling.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm, on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick, MD 21701. A memorial service will be held at 1:00PM, on Friday, February 24, 2017, at the Evangelical Lutheran Church, 33 E. Church Street, Frederick, MD 21701. Inurnment will be private.
