INDIANOLA - John David "J.D." Allen, 70, the retired owner of Allen Mercantile, died of cancer Monday in St. Dominic/Jackson Memorial Hospital.
Services are 2 p.m. today at the First United Methodist Church with burial in Indianola Cemetery. Card Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Mr. Allen was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include: wife, Alice; daughters, Beth Allen Lyon of Indianola, Amy Allen Russell of Greenwood and Nancy Allen Morrison of Memphis; mother, Avis Davidson Allen of Memphis; sister, Elizabeth Ann Thurston of Merritt Island, Fla.; and seven grandchildren.
