Lila was born March 26, 1926 at Minot, North Dakota, the daughter of Jacob and Louise (Roseneau) Adams. She graduated from Minot High School in 1944 and worked for several years in the offices of the Truax-Traer Coal Company.
Lila was united in marriage to Benjamin Tollefson on April 11, 1949 in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Minot. This union was blessed with four children. In addition to raising their four children, she was also employed as a legal secretary for Bosard and McCutcheon Law Offices in Minot.
Lila and Ben have been longtime members of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, where she was active with the Naomi Circle group. She enjoyed baking and cooking and was well known for her wonderful cookies. She enjoyed keeping a meticulous diary and took great pride in her penmanship.
She was a wonderful hostess and always had a plate of cookies ready no matter who was coming over for coffee. She kept her sense of humor up until the very end, was quick to laugh and a very faithful friend to many.
Her loving family includes, husband of 72 years, Ben Tollefson, Minot; children, Rob (Linda) Tollefson, Green Bay, WI, LuAnn Henning, Missoula, MT, Dave Tollefson, Los Angeles, CA, Ric (Tracie) Tollefson, Minot; 7 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Lila was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Gertrude, Laura, Amalia, Arthur and Clarence.
