ENGELHARD - Marvin BLOUNT of Farrows Road died Wednesday in Pungo District Hospital in Belhaven. Mr. Blount was born in Manhattan, N.Y. He was the son of Annie Hayes and Cecil Patterson of New York. He was the husband of Dora Midgette Blount. In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters: Erma Burrus of Swan Quarter and Mavis Whitfield of Engelhard; three sons: Edwin Ray Blount of Engelhard, Marvin Blount, Jr. and Gerald Michael Blount , both of Manteo; seven sisters: Annette Hayes, Betty Hayes, Linda Hayes, and Nancy H. Davis, all of New York, N.Y., Karen Bullock, and Maxine Patterson, both of Syracuse, N.Y.; eight brothers: Willie Hayes, Lenny Hayes, Robert Hayes, Donald Hayes, James Hayes, and Tommy Hayes, all of New York, Ronnie Patterson of Syracuse, N.Y., and Bob Gibbs of Washington; and 14 grandchildren. A funeral service will be held today (Sunday) at 1 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Engelhard with the Rev. Robert Bland officiating. Burial will follow in Brown Cemetery in Engelhard.
