Daniel David Bad Bear, 56, passed away on April 7, 2021. Daniel was born November 1, 1965 to William Herman Bad Bear and Georgia Ann Takes Horse in Hardin, Montana. He was a member of the Whistling Water and a child of the Big Lodge clan. His Indian name is Baashooitishehe Baaxtaash (Holy Medicine Rock).

Daniel was a heavy equipment operator and worked at several mining companies, such as Coeur Rochester Mine, Powder River Coal Mine and Sarpy Mine. He did road construction, running the excavator and one of the projects was working on the Shiloh Road in Billings doing the underground utilities.

Daniel was an early riser, you would find him in the morning drinking his coffee and catching up on the latest news or watching Youtube videos. He was a hard worker and loved being in his shop working on trucks and building motors. He was a jack of all trades, always had his tools with him and ready to help friends and family with any projects. Daniel was very close to his grandchildren, they were his pride and joy. He never came empty handed when visiting, always brought cookies and candy. Daniel had a talent for debating current affairs, he could get a rise out of anyone. He was respectful, lived a simple life, had a great sense of humor and a big heart for rescuing puppies.

We will miss your visits, jokes and just being there for us, but we all know that you are at peace and with your Jeanie again.

He is preceded in death by his wife Jeanie; father William Bad Bear; grandparents George and Olive Bad Bear; sisters Pansy and Faith "Pinky" Bad Bear; uncles Dicky Bad Bear and Marvine Takes Horse; aunt Marjorie Bad Bear and granddaughter Hera Bear Cloud.

He is survived by his mother, Georgia; his sons, Aaron (Emeri) Bad Bear and Breyzen (Jennifer) Bad Bear; daughters Violet (Corey) Bear Claw and Jausten (Mason) Noeller; adopted son Kevin Bad Bear; grandchildren Montez, Tyrun, Adrianna, Dominick, Athena, Ares, Hyrum, Hailey, Leah, Fernando Jr. and Daisy; his brothers Dee Joseph and Barry Bad Bear, David (Susan) Old Elk, Gregory (Michaela) Hess, Nick (Anna) Waller, Chuck (Mary) Trottier, Bob (Terry) McAnally, Mick McAnally, Hector Alverado, JD (Rae Ann) Svedberg, Eugene (Gayle) Yarlott, and Al "Champ" (Eunice) Takes Horse and Steven Kern; sisters Shelly Buffalo Calf, Lorry Little Swallow, Annette Young Bird, and Jeanne (Curt) Eder-Rhodes; aunt Georgianna (Clayton) Old Elk; uncles David Bad Bear and Carl Pease.
