In 1909 he was married in Howell County to Nannie May Webb who preceded him in death in 1969. He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include one son, William Ross Evins, Millington, Tennessee, four grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Interment was in the Lost Camp Cemetery under the direction of Robertson Drago Funeral Home, West Plains, Missouri
