Esther M. Middleton of Independence, Mo., passed away Saturday, April 16, 2005.
Mrs. Middleton was born April 2, 1914, in Goodland, Kan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond, two sons, Bill and Bob, four brothers and four sisters.
She is survived by one son, Ted Middleton; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Shirley Flood of Kansas City, Mo., Earlene and Clyde Powell of Independence, and Martha and Phil Hodges of Grain Valley, Mo.; two sisters, Marion Phillips of Richfield, Utah, and Jean Sammons of Hayes, Kan.; one daughter-in-law, Corrine Middleton; two sisters-in-law, Velma Bartlett and Dorothy Hurst; one brother-in-law, Orwin Middleton; 19 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 20, at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Noland Road Chapel, Independence, (816) 252-8900. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Memory Gardens, Independence. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel. The family suggests memorial contributions to Crossroads Hospice, 8540 Blue Ridge Blvd., Kansas City, Mo. 64138.
