Inga Hallstrom Borowski passed on to her heavenly reward, April 8, 2021 at age 90, as the result of congestive-heart failure. Inga was born March 24, 1931 in Chicago to Edmund O. and Edith (Lundin) Hallstrom. She had a brother, Harry, who predeceased her. Inga married Joseph F. Borowski, Jr. on June 15, 1952. He survives her. In addition to her spouse, Inga is survived by two daughters; Terri Kobel and her spouse, Randy of Champaign, IL; and Elise Borowski who lives in a CILA home with five other women in Elgin, and is run by St. Coletta/WI. She is also survived by two grandsons, Eric Kobel and David Kobel, five nephews, four nieces and two sisters-in-law, Shirley Hallstrom and Rita Swetlik. For the past 28 years, Inga and Joe have resided in West Dundee, following 28 years in Wheeling, IL. Prior to that, Inga and Joe worked and lived in various communities in Central and Southern Illinois. Inga had a passion for gardening and was a member of the Back Yard Garden Club in Dundee since 1992. In addition to gardening, Inga enjoyed reading, bridge and pinochle, painting, travel, music, and sending time with her extended family. Inga played piano. She enjoyed accompanying her daughter's flute performances and playing Christmas carols at family gatherings. She also earned a private pilot's license and flew a single engine Cessna. Inga graduated from Roosevelt High School in Chicago in 1949. She earned a B.Ed from the University of Illinois in 1964, and an M.Ed from National College of Education in 1969. She worked 32 years as an elementary school teacher; 10 years in various Central Illinois schools, and the last 22 years at Palatine Dist. #15. Family and friends will gather at St. Catherine of Siena Church in West Dundee with Rev. Rev. Matthew DeBlock, Pastor officiating. Private family inurnment will be held at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois.
