Military Figure. In 1853 Ildefonso Cipriano Green Ceseña participated in the defense of the Baja California Sur territory against the filibuster William Walker. In the reform war from 1857 to 1860 he commanded a group of ranchers from Cabo San Lucas, called "Rifleros de San Lucas" to defend the cause of the Liberals. In 1866, during Mexico's war against France, he was captain of the National Guard, and also gave General Márquez de León two large-caliber artillery pieces that were used by the California Cazadores Battalion in the battle of Querétaro. In 1879 he joined the struggle of General Márquez de León with the revolutionary "Plan del Triunfo" against the government of Porfirio Díaz. In 1917 he received the rank of Major serving in the Mexican army for two years. In 1986 his remains exhumed and transferred to the Rotonda de los Sudcalifornianos Ilustres.
