May was a sewing machine operator for the former Wirth Mfg. Co., Allentown, for 30 years until retiring in 1980. She also volunteered for Sacred Heart Hospital, Allentown, for two years and later for Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, for 10 years. She was also a member of the Ladies auxiliary for the the Fearless Fire Company and the Fairview Fire Company.
Survivors: In addition to her husband are sons, Kermit A. Ritter Jr. of Allentown and Richard L. Ritter and his wife, Linda L., of Barto, Fla.; daughters, Carolyn M. Gillow and her husband, Ricky, of Easton and Barbara J. Stranzl and her husband, Walter J., of Effort; brother, William Kratzer Jr. of Allentown; sisters, Pearl Hoffman and Eleanor Karlovic, both of Allentown, Ruth Entler and her husband, Robert of Bethlehem and Violet Malitch and her husband, Anthony, of Coplay; stepsons, Stephen E. Yanek Jr. and his wife, Karen B., of Harrington Del. and David A. Yanek and his wife, Peggy M., of South Pasadena, Fla.; grandchildren, Noel and Neil Ritter, Rebecca Harboe, Melinda L. Luke, Joshua and Jonathan Gillow and Shaun Stranzl; stepgrandchildren, John, Heather and Andrew Yanek; great-grandchildren, Austin and Jeremy Ritter, Charles M. and Isabelle M. Luke. She was predeceased by a stepgranddaughter, Sherry Yanek.
Services: 10 a.m. Tuesday, K.V. Knopp Funeral Home Inc., 46 E. Susquehanna St., Allentown. Call 7-8:30 p.m. Monday and 9:30 a.m. to time of services Tuesday. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Memorial Park.
