Professional Hockey Player, Coach. For fourteen seasons (1964 to 1978), he played at the defenseman position in the National Hockey League with the New York Rangers and St. Louis Blues. He began his career with the Guelph Biltmore Mad Hatters junior hockey club of the Ontario Hockey Association in 1959, prior to being promoted to the NHL during the 1964-1965 season. He had the distinction of being a member of the St. Louis Blues during their inaugural season (1967-1968) and experienced a run at the Stanley Cup when St. Louis reached the Stanley Cup Finals in 1968. In 645 career regular season games, he compiled 20 goals and 126 assists. After retiring as a player, he served as an advanced scout with the St. Louis Blues and was briefly the team's head coach during the 1992-1993 season. His older brother Barclay and his younger brother Bill were also professional hockey players in the NHL. Bob was killed in an automobile accident in St. Louis on Interstate 64. He was 78.
