PARKERSBURG - Helen M. Rader, 78, of Parkersburg passed away March 4, 2004, at St. Joseph's Hospital.

She was born Oct. 20, 1925, in Parkersburg, a daughter of the late Delbert and Opal Morris Currey. She retired as a member of the Blennerhassett Hotel staff. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church.

She is survived by three sons, Larry Rader and his wife, Janet, of Parkersburg, Steven Shaffer and his wife, Kathy, of Reedsville, Ohio, and Timothy Shaffer and his companion, Ruby Chichester, of Parkersburg; three daughters, Barbara Morris and her husband, Roger, Cheryl Chambers and her companion, Todd Perdue, and Malinda Shaffer and her companion, Bill Carr, all of Parkersburg; one daughter-in-law, Edna Rader of Parkersburg; two sisters, Pat Anderson and Dot Spiker, both of Parkersburg; 15 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Gary Rader; her grandson, Gary Rader Jr.; her brother, Bud Currey; and her sister, Marge Anderson.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
