Wiley Gaston Cockrell, 74, of Indianola died of cancer Monday, July 17, 2000 at South Sunflower County Hospital. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wed., July 19, at Card Funeral Home. Burial was in Indianola City Cemetery. Card Funeral Home of Indianola was in charge of arrangements. Mr. Cockrell was a retired farmer. He is survived by his wife, Rosie Lee Roncali Cockrell of Indianola; daughter, Dianne Smyth of Yellville, Ark.; sons, Monroe Cockrell, Ricky Cockrell and David Cockrell, all of Indianola; sisters, Adie Anderson of Brandon, Fla., Madie Baker of Vicksburg, and Jewel Roberts of Indianola; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.
