J. F. Cockrell Rites Held. INDIANOLA, Miss. -- Services for James Franklin Cockrell, 77, who died at his home in Indianola early Wednesday, were held Thursday at the Pilgrim Rest Church of God, north of Indianola. Burial followed in the Indianola cemetery with Coleman Funeral Home in charge. Mr. Cockrell, a native of Smith County, had lived in this community for 45 years. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Church of God. He leaves his wife Mrs. Mary Cockrell of Indianola; four daughters, Mrs. Earl Baker of Vicksburg, Mrs. H. L. Anderson of Birmingham, Ala.; Mrs. Jewel Robinson of Shaw, and Mrs. Frances Tabb of Indianola; two sons, Wiley Cockrell and J. F. Cockrell, Jr. both of Indianola; two sisters, Mrs. R. E. Wilburn of Greenville, and Mrs. Laura Skelton of Indianola; 18 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Cockrell was the son of James C. "Jim" Cockrell and Elizabeth "Lizzie" Lewis. Per his World War I Draft Registration card, his date of birth was September 17, 1885.
