STAFFORD RESIDENT CLAIMED BY DEATH
MRS. WILLIAM N. BENNET, AGED EIGHTY YEARS

Mrs. Ellen Sanders Bennet, wife of William N. Bennet of Stafford, died at the home of Mrs. Belle D. Sanders of Stafford on Saturday evening at 8 o'clock. She had been an invalid many years and in failing health all of the summer. Death, however, came to her suddenly.

Mrs. Bennet was born in Devonshire, Eng., on July 18, 1825, and consequently was in her eighty-first year. She came to this country with her parents at the age of 16. On January 25, 1855, she was married to William N. Bennet in Stafford by the Rev. Richard Radley and last January they celebrated their golden anniversary. Immediately after their marriage
Mr. and Mrs. Bennet went to Cheektowaga to live and remained there until 1877, when they returned to Stafford. Mrs. Bennet was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal church and was an estimable woman, loved and respected by all who knew her.

Besides her husband Mrs. Bennet is survived by a brother, Captain H. P. Sanders of Washington, D. C., and a stepdaughter, Mrs. Henry B. Thielson of Salem, Ore. She was a sister of the late John and Edwin B. Sanders of Stafford. The funeral, which was private, was held at 2 o'clock this afternoon, the Rev. Pierre Cushing of Le Roy officiating. The interment will be at Cheektowaga tomorrow.
