In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 48 years, Martha Blackwell Goddard. He is survived by a brother, Bob (Priscilla) Goddard of Brandon MS and a sister, Betty (Steve) Simpson of Winter Haven, FL., a sister-in-law, Elby Blackwell, and many nieces and nephews.
Jim attended high school in Fitzgerald Georgia, served in the United States Air Force, and enjoyed a successful career in the Engineering field. He was a valued member of the Masons. Jim loved fishing, watching Braves baseball games, and woodworking.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m.to 2:00, Thursday, March 18, 2021 at Grandview Memory Gardens Mausoleum Chapel at Bluefield, VA where crypt side services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Chris White officiating.
