He was ordained to the ministry on October 15, 1873 and to the office of bishop on December 15, 1891. His companion preceded him in death about eight years ago. He leaves to mourn his departure eight children--two sons and six daughters, 42 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, one brother, and two sisters.
His disease was dropsy and heart trouble.
Bishop Jacob N. Brubacher of Lancaster County preached the funeral sermon--Text, Heb. 13:7, 17--assisted by Samuel Gayman, Samuel Leiter, W. G. Sieber and William W. Graybill.
Auker watched over the flock in Juniata, Snyder, and Perry Counties, Pennsylvania, for nearly 17 years to the best of his ability. May the Lord help us to follow his humble example.
