Faye Culpepper Ballew, 93, widow of Clinton Monroe Ballew, formerly of New Easley Highway, died Tuesday, March 15, 2005, at Brighton Gardens.

Born in Maysville, Ga., she was the daughter of the late John T. and Teresa Phagan Culpepper. She moved to Greenville at an early age.

Mrs. Ballew was a homemaker. She was a member of Washington Avenue Baptist Church, and was a former member of Brandon Baptist Church, where she was very active in both churches.

Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Ray Charles and Patricia H. Ballew; six grandchildren, Ray Charles "Chuck" Ballew Jr. and his wife, Jan K., Catherine Ballew Garner, Andrew Milton Ballew and his wife, Patty B., Teresa Ballew Cottingham and her husband, A. Hallam IV, Alisa Shakman Rawlins and her husband, Robert L., Jr., Nancy Shakman Murphy and her husband, Lawrence T.; and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Thelma Ballew Shakman.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association , Upstate SC Chapter, 114 E. Earle St., Anderson, SC 29621-5602.

Graveside services will be conducted Thursday, March 17, 2005, at noon in Remembrance Chapel of Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be held prior to the services, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. in Remembrance Chapel.

The family will be at 1029 Altamont Road, Greenville.
