BURIAL: Memory Gardens Cemetery in Pampa.

BIOGRAPHY: Edith, affectionately known as Mae, was born May 31, 1926 to Walter and Dora Tyler in Beckham County, Oklahoma. Mae married Walton Barnett on April 11, 1943 in Mayfield, Oklahoma. They moved to Pampa in September of 1946, and then to Skellytown in April of 1953. Mae worked in the nursery at the First Baptist Church of Skellytown for 53 years, and also served as custodian for the past 30 years. As a deacon's wife, Mae provided love and ministry to hundreds of people over the past 50+ years in her service to her Lord through her church and by her Christian testimony. Mae was preceded in death by her mother and father; a sister, Bonnie Fairless; 3 brothers, W. A. Tyler, Walter Tyler and Gerald Tyler; and a grandson, Chris Dwaine Carter.

SURVIVORS: Husband: Walt Barnett of the home; 2 daughters, Reva Williams of Skellytown and Patsy Carter & husband Ken of Lubbock; 1 brother, Gene Tyler & wife Joy of Evansville, Indiana; 7 grandchildren, Mark Williams of Las Vegas, Nevada, Bradley Williams & wife Lani of Canyon, Phillip Williams & wife Synamon and Kent Williams, all of Fort Collins, Colorado, Shane Carter & wife Cassie of Paducah, Kentucky, Brandon Carter & wife Sherri of San Antonio, and Kendra Wiggins & husband Frank of Montgomery; 4 great-grandsons, 4 great-granddaughters, and numerous nieces and nephews.
