December 7, 1931 ~ March 12, 2021 (age 89)
Dan M. Quinley, Jr., 89, of Westminster, died Friday, March 12, 2021, at Carroll Hospital Center. Born December 7, 1931 in Jonesville, VA, he was the son of the late Rose Noe Quinley and Dan Quinley. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Shirley Quinley.
Before retiring he worked as an Electrician and was a member of Local Union No. 24. He attended Manchester High School and served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He was a member of Manchester Baptist Church, the Westminster Elks, American Legion Carroll Post No. 31, VFW Molleville Farm Post No. 467 and Littlestown Eagles. He enjoyed playing baseball and softball, traveling, bowling, gardening, bus trips and country music. He was also an avid Baltimore Orioles baseball fan and a Denver Bronco's football fan. He enjoyed attending his children's and grandchildren's sporting events throughout Carroll County over the years.
Besides his wife, he is survived by children Ron Quinley and wife Jill of Freeland; Sharon Houck and husband Bob of Westminster; Steve Quinley and wife Wendy of Littlestown, PA; and Brent Quinley and wife Susan of Westminster; 9 grandchildren Lisa Ritt, Erin, Allison, Alexis, Kelsey and Brynn Quinley and Kayla and Trevor Houck, Nickole Porter, 4 great-grandchildren Harper, Avery, Cole and Mason.
He was predeceased by his sisters Janette Hoffman and Vera Kreitzer.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Deer Park Cemetery, with military honors.
