Her obituary in the Carroll Journal, Carrollton, Ohio, Thursday, May 4,
1939.

Mrs. Martha Elizabeth Allmon, 73, former school teacher and life resident
of Bergholz, died in her home at that village April 26. Her husband, John
P. Allmon, died in 1916. She was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Samuel
Carson one of a family of nine children, and was married in 1902 to Mr.
Allmon. To this union one daughter was born, Agnes, who survives at home.
Also surviving are three brothers, Samuel, Thomas and James Carson, all of
Bergholz. Mrs. Allmon taught in Bergholz schools 46 years before her
retirement about eight years ago. She was a member of the Chestnut Ridge
Methodist Episcopal Church. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at
the home, followed by additional services at the Ridge Church, Rev. C. F.
Walters officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.
