Adaline's birth and baptism entry is found in the Friedens Church records, and her given name at birth was "Adelheit". She was so named in honor of her paternal grandmother, Adelheit (Lürssen) Braun.
Adaline died at the age of 20 on January 23, 1842. Two of her older sisters, Julian (Brown) Young, age 22, and Catherine (Brown) Sellers, age 40, died just four months later on May 8, 1842, and May 17, 1842, respectively. Julian's 2 infant children also died in May 1842. It is highly suspected that the same disease or illness may have killed the 3 sisters and the 2 infant children, however, the exact cause of death is as yet unknown for any of them.
Adaline was buried in the Friedens Church Cemetery with her parents, Rev. John Brown and Elizabeth Fall, a sister, Julian (Brown) Young, and a brother, Samuel Diedrich Brown.
