John married Anna Mary Hillerich Apr. 3, 1856 in Louisville, KY. 1900 census records indicate Mary was a widow. The same records show she gave birth to seven children, with two living. Daughters, Anna 'Annie' (Vogel) Reising, 1857-1896 and Catherine 'Kate' (Vogel) Jones, 1859-1876, died 36 days after she married. Son, John, 1861-1897. Two sons survived their mother's death in 1907. Edward 1866-1912 and Charles M. Vogel 1869-1929. Mary is not buried along side her husband, but in a grave next to her daugter, Annie, in St. Louis Cemetery in Louisville. The St. John cemetery records were lost in a fire many years ago and there is little information to go on, but family history tells us he is buried in St. John's
