Lovie and her husband, Jim Parsons, were wonderful hosts. When my husband's parents married in 1935, his Aunt Lovie and Uncle Jim honored them with a terrific dinner party, at their home in Paris, Texas, right next to the Red River. It was also their son, Sidney's 38th birthday. They had 2 cooks and a large dining room table, with a serving table about 14-16 feet, loaded with food---baked, fried, roasted and stewed, and all kinds of vegetables. About 16 people sat around 4 tables in the room, enjoying themselves, the wonderful food, and the gracious hospitality. It was a special occasion for all.
