URBANA WOMAN DEAD
Mrs. Minerva E. Franklin Passed Away On Sunday.
Mrs. Minerva E. Franklin, wife of George W. Franklin, passed away at the residence of her son, Rezin S. Franklin, 603 East Illinois street, Urbana. Her death was due to a complication of diseases covering a period of several years.
Miss Minerva E. Albert was born April 20, 1846, near Warfieldsburg, Md. At the age of 18 years she was united in marriage to George W. Franklin of Warfieldsburg. To this union were born Harvey I. of Waukesham Wis.; Francis T., Rezin S. and Mrs. John Balispy of Urbana and Mrs. Verne Smith of Portland, Ore., all of whom survive her and Eddie W. who died in infancy. Mrs. Franklin moved with her family to Urbana in 1872 where she resided until the time of her death.
At an early age she united with the First Baptist church of Urbana, under the pastorate of Rev. W. G. Shott. The deceased was highly respected and esteemed by all who knew her and she leaves a host of friends and relatives to mourn her loss.
The funeral services were conducted this afternoon at 3 o'clock from the family residence at 723 South Market street, Rev. W. H. Steadman of Champaign officiating. Mrs. Leslie Kirkpatrick sang "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" and "We're Going Down the Valley One By One" at the request of the deceased. Interment was in Woodlawn cemetery.
