Mr. Rex William “Harold” Johnson, age 76, of Elkin, passed away Tuesday, March 2, 2021, at Forsyth Medical Center.

Mr. Johnson was born November 10, 1944, in Wilkes County to Jarvis and Myrtle Davis Johnson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Louella McCann Johnson; brother, Jay Johnson; sisters, Eloise Billings, Louise Prevette, Lorene Johnson, and Jean Byrd.

Survivors include: brothers, Dean Johnson of Wilkesboro, Archie Johnson of Hamptonville; sisters, Geraldine Johnson of Elkin, Kathleen Jones of Dobson, Brenda Davis of Dobson; special little buddy, Caleb Couch; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the 8th floor staff at Forsyth Medical Center for their care.

A graveside service will be conducted Thursday, March 4, 2021, at 2:30 p.m. at Union Hill Cemetery with Dr. Richard Brinegar and Rev. William Adams officiating. Mr. Johnson will lie-in-state from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Ebenezer Christian Children’s Home, PO Box 2777, North Wilkesboro, NC 28659.
