Funeral services for Archie C. Bennett, 85, of Winona, were at 10 a.m. today at Oliver Funeral Home.

Mr. Bennett died of heart failure Saturday, April 14, 2007.

He was a retired auto mechanic. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and was a member of the American Legion and Disabled American Veterans posts in Winona.

He is survived by his wife, Mary "Maggie" Bennett of Winona; two daughters, Mary Green of French Camp and Sylvia Tucker of Pelahatchie; six sons, Archie Bennett Jr., Tom Bennett and James Bennett, all of Durant, Bobby Bennett and John Bennett, both of Winona, and Stevie Bennett of Florence; 20 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

Marck Dillman officiated at the services.

Burial was in New Hope Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Preston Pierce, Ethan Malone, Buddy Malone, Eric Bennett, Jay Bennett and Matthew Bennett.

Visitation was from 5 until 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
