My great uncle, Homer Franklin Bennett, was the son of Abner Franklin Bennett and Sarah Luna Bennett. He married Denver Gertrude Collins in 1927. They did not have any children. Uncle Homer was fun loving and a joy to be around. He was a favorite uncle with his nieces and nephews. He was a fireman for many years in Greenwood, Mississippi.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Williams and Lord Chapel. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery in Winona with the Rev. Jim Terpo officiating.
Mr. Bennett was a Deacon in the Calvary Baptist Church
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Denver Bennett of Greenwood; three brothers, Doffie Lee Bennett of Greenwood. Guy Bennett of Isola and Archie Bennett of Carrollton and a sister, Mrs. Levy Sheppard of Tchula.
Members of the Greenwood Fire Department will serve as pallbearers.
