Thelma Lowe Broadway, 97, of Wichita Falls died Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2003, at Presbyterian Manor.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17, 2003, at Lunn's Colonial Chapel with Dr. Robert Jeffress, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Entombment will be in Crestview Mausoleum under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.
Mrs. Broadway was born Jan. 4, 1906, in Huckabay, Texas. She married Roy Broadway on Dec. 19, 1927, in Beaumont, Texas. She moved to Wichita Falls from Borger, Texas, in 1942. She was a retired schoolteacher and a member of First Baptist Church.
Mrs. Broadway was active in years past in the Woman's Forum. She was a member of the Woman's Missionary Union at First Baptist Church and a long-time Sunday school teacher of children. She was a founder of the Women of Rotary of Wichita Falls and a member of the Wichita General Hospital Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Broadway in 1976, and a daughter, Marilyn Brannan in 2003.
Survivors include a son, Dr. Jerry Roy Broadway and his wife Mary Evelyn of Wichita Falls; four grandchildren, Vicki and David Henslee of Wichita Falls, Marcia and Ted Carson of Midland, Texas, Chris and Cathy Broadway of Keller, Texas, and Susan and Gary Cunningham of Plano, Texas; and nine great-grandchildren, Meredith Latimer, Allyson and Brian Henslee, Kristin and Caroline Carson, Kyle and Elizabeth Broadway, Bryan Blair and Emily Cunningham.
There will be a visitation following the service at Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund.
