Sarah was the daughter of Thomas Armor Henderson and Eliza Jane Yerian.
She married on January 17, 1896, Jackson County, Ohio, to Otha N. Perkins.
They are listed with their daughter in the 1910 census of Franklin Township, Jackson County, Ohio.

Jackson Herald, Tue, March 31, 1936:
Sarah Elizabeth Henderson, second daughter of Thomas and Eliza Henderson, was born April 11, 1861, Scioto township, Jackson and departed this, March 19, 1936, at the home of her daughter, at the age of 74 years, 11 months, 8 days.
She was united in marriage to Otto Perkins in June 1897. To this union was born one daughter, Mrs. Warren Pierce. She leaves to mourn her loss, a devoted daughter, four grandchildren, Jacob Norris, Elizabeth Jane, Mary Frances and Juanita Joan Pierce, four sisters, Nannie Brookins, Athens, Ohio; Alice Riegel, Plant City, Florida; Hattie Aleshire, Waverly, Ohio, Callie Walker, Jackson, one brother, Jim Henderson, Jackson, Ohio, and a host of relatives and friends.
One brother, Axel Henderson and one sister, Mary Lyons, proceeded her in death.
At an early age she united with the Presbyterian church at Buckeye, where she was cared for by day and night and all that loving hands could do was done but at 7 o'clock Thursday evening she passed away.
