Anna Leonhart, 88, of Antioch, IL. passed away Friday, May 2, 2003 at Northern Illinois Medical Center, McHenry, IL. after a long illness. She was born October 4, 1914 in Chicago, the daughter of the late Josef and Frantiska (Vincenci) Cikrit. She moved to Antioch in 1976 upon her retirement from National Can Corporation. She loved to play bingo, visit the casinos, crocheting, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She married Charles "Ernie" Leonhart in 1934 and together they had three sons, Charles, Raymond and Joseph.

She is survived by her sons, Raymond (Doris) of Navaree, FL. and Joseph (Jeannine) of Antioch; her daughter-in-law, Fran Leonhart of Elgin, IL; six grandchildren, Randy Leonhart of Elgin, IL, Terry (Bill) Prothman of Sandwich, IL, Kevin (his fiancee, Jennifer Payne) of Ottawa, Jennifer (Brian) Witt of Salem, WI, Jayme (Eric) Bean of Antioch and Jessica Leonhart, her primary caregiver with whom she shared her home in Antioch; five great grandchildren, Cora and Billy Prothman, Benjamin Witt and Janelle and Tayler Bean; two sisters, Rose Nesvacil of Conover, WI and Elsie Holub of Brookfield; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Charles; a brother, Joseph; and three sisters, Frances Svec, Mary Bajorinas and Agnes Auz.

Funeral services with Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM Tuesday, May 6, 2003 at St. Peter Church, 557 Lake St., Antioch, IL. Interment at 12:30 PM in Resurrection Cemetery, Justice, IL. Visitation will be held from 4 until 9 PM on Monday at Strang Funeral Home, 1055 Main St., Antioch, IL.
