"MEDFORD - Elmira Barker, 80, of Medford, died Monday, April 11, 1994, in the Owatonna Hospital.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. today in the Congregational United Church of Christ, Medford with the Rev. Mary Parker officiating. Burial will be in the Union Cemetery, Medford.
Visitation was held from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the Michaelson Funeral Home and will be held one hour prior to the services today in the church.
Elmira Stegner, the daughter of Irvin Stegner and Mabel Wolf, was born on Dec. 19, 1913, in Faribault. She graduated from Faribault High School in 1932 and from nurse's training at St. Lucas Hospital, Faribault, in 1935. On Aug. 31, 1946, she married Lloyd Barker in Faribault. She worked as a registered nurse in the Owatonna Hospital and the Henry Clinic in Owatonna. She retired in 1977. She was a member of the Congregational United Church of Christ in Medford, where she was active in the Ladies Aide and served on the Deaconate Board. She was a member of the District 13 Nurses Association and the Good Sam Club. She was also a member of the Hugh Matejeck VFW Auxiliary in Owatonna and the Homemakers Club.
She is survived by her husband, Lloyd Barker of Medford; a daughter, Karen Larson of Elgin; a son, Dan (and Sandra) Barker of Morristown; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a sister and her parents."
