Obituary from Jackson County Banner, Brownstown, Indiana Thu, May 27, 1886 Page 8

It becomes our sad duty to announce the death of James Edwards, who died at his residence in Clear Spring last Thursday, after an illness of about ten hours. The cause of death is not exactly known. Some suppose him to have die of disease of the spine. This much is known, however, that he had been drinking heavily for 3 or 4 days before his death, and from which he never recovered. He was a kind husband and father, and leaves a wife and two children to mourn his loss. Poor Jim; his fate only shows us all that death is no respecter of person- that the strong are as likely to be stricken as the weak. His death should be as a warning to all to prepare for that inevitable fate which sooner or later must over take us all. Mr. Edwards was buried in Clear Spring grave yard. Rev. McCoy preached the funeral discourse.
