Obituary from Brownstown Banner, Brownstown, Indiana, Wed, Jul 22, 1908, Main Edition, Page 1
Dr. Jacob Edwards, whose sickness we have been mentioning from time to time, died at his home here Saturday morning, July 19th, from the results of typhoid fever. The doctor took sick immediately after moving here a short time ago and continued to his bed until his demise. He has been practicing medicine at Walesboro for the past ten or twelve years but at the solicitation of quite a number of our people he came here to practice his profession. He was born and raised in this neighborhood, leaving here when a young man. He attended our schools here and was looked upon as one of the brightest pupils ever admitted or to have left our school. He was about 42 years of age and is survived by a wife and one daughter, Fay and one son, Leno, besides a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his loss. The Masonic fraternity, of which he was a member, took charge of the funeral exercises and laid the body to its last resting place. Masons from Jonesville, Walesboro, Columbus, Seymour and our home lodge participating. The sorrowing wife and children have the sympathy of the entire community in their sad bereavement.
