After years of searching I've been able to prove that Elizabeth is indeed Elizabeth Raum, not Payne as dozens of Hogmire trees have incorrectly posted online. The attached obituary puts this to rest!
Her death certificate lists her father as David Raum. Several of her documented children list her maiden name as Raum on their death certificates. All information anyone has ever had on the "2nd" Elizabeth in online family trees (2nd wife of Samuel) was that her maiden name was Payne. It is unknown at this time where that information came from but I suspect that this is NOT correct. It is possible that the 1st wife Elizabeth was actually the Payne.
The 1855 census of Livingston County NY has Samuel and Elizabeth living next to David and Elender Raum and Jacob and Lavina (Raum) Langs - Jacob and Lavina's daughter Elizabeth married Samuel and Elizabeth's son William.
