CENTRAL LAKE - S.B. Edwards, 86, of Central Lake, died Wednesday morning at home.
A summer resident of Central Lake since 1936, he moved there permanently from Dearborn in 1977. He had retired in 1965 after many years of employment as a construction engineer with the City of Dearborn. He was a member of the Dearborn Retirees Association. Born in Cheboygan on Feb. 7, 1904, he was the son of Randolph and Bertha (Anway) Edwards. On June 30, 1934, in Angola, Ind., he married the former Elizabeth L. Sherman, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Steven (Kathleen) Newman of Birmingham; a son, Robert S. Edwards of Cape Cod, Mass.; two brothers, Percy Edwards of Okemos and John Edwards of Central Lake; a sister, Mrs. Lee (Margaret) Osborne of Muscatine, Iowa; seven grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Harvey and Thomas Edwards; and a sister, Marion Edwards. Private family services will be held Friday. The Rev. David Cheyne will officiate. Burial will be in Southern Cemetery, Central Lake Township. Memorial services will be held in the summer.
