The funeral for Mr. Lawrence M. Freese, Jr., 76, of 2157 Packard Place, El Cajon, Calif., who died Tuesday, March 9, 1999, at his home, will be Monday at 11 am at Haverstock Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Freese officiating. Friends may call Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm, and Monday at 11 am until the time of services. Burial of ashes will take place at a later date in Oak Grove Cemetery, Mill Creek. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Grossmont Hospital, P.O. Box 3739 La Mesa, Calif, 91944-3739. He was born March 24, 1922, in LaPorte to Murriel and Marie (Garrison) Freese. Mr. Freese was a welder at Allis-Chalmers for 35 years, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II, and a member of the Moose Lodge and American Legion, both of New Carlisle. On July 7, 1940, in LaPorte, he married Virginia E. Hager, who died Feb. 13, 1994. Surviving are on daughter, Marjorie Pease of El Cajon; one son, Thomas of Atlanta, GA; nine grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
