Born in Riga Latvia and came to the United States in 1950. She worked throughout her life until her final retirement from the Postal Service. Ruta traveled extensively throughout her life. She loved to swim, grow flowers and attend the ballet, opera and symphony.
She was proceeded in death by her husband Val Abrickis and her son HarvKarlson.
She is survived by two daughters, Renata Vander Veen and Veronica Abrickis; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Memorial Services will be 1:00pm, Dec. 23 at the Santos Robinson Mortuary, 160 Estudillo Dr., San Leandro, CA.
