MARCH 15, 1924 – JULY 13, 2012

Clarence Philpot, 88, passed away peacefully at home on July 13, 2012 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband, brother, father, grandfather (Papaw) and great-grandfather. Clarence was born in Hamilton, Ohio on March 15, 1924 to Parents, Virgie Ray and Bradley Philpot. He will be greatly missed by his Wife, Ann Philpot, Daughter, Clarissa Parker, and husband, Charlie; Son, Clarence Philpot, and wife. Kelly; step-sons: Randy Sullivan and wife, Terri and Randy Sullivan. Grandchildren: Richard Parker and wife, Monica; Thomas Parker and wife, Alicia: Rebecca Bollom and husband, Marcus; Shawn Philpot and wife, Amber; William Philpot; Kelly Philpot-Jones; Chase Sullivan and wife Sol; Ashton Sullivan,;Tessa Sullivan, Christopher Kovar, and Jonathan Kovar, 16 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Brothers and Sisters: Charles Philpot and wife, Lishia, Doris Philpot, Betty Philpot, Jimmy Philpot, and Jerry Philpot and wife, Mary. Brothers and sisters-in-law, Nick Schrakamp, Kathy Schrakamp, Mollie Barton, Carolyne McCants, Glenn Wills and wife, Pam, Benjamin Wills and wife, Tiffany, and Ron Wills and wife. Donna. Clarence was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings: Bradley, Walter and Alice; wives Josie Philpot and Shirley Philpot, and step-daughter, Merry Sullivan Kovar. Clarence lived many years in Channelview, Pasadena, and most currently, in La Porte. He graduated from Pasadena High School and attended San Jacinto College. Served with honor in the United States Marine Corps during WWII in the Pacific island campaigns from 1941 - 45. He worked as a telephone lineman while living in Dayton, Texas and retired from Champion Paper Mill in Pasadena, Texas after 43 years of loyal service. Clarence's faith meant so very much to him. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, all kinds of dancing, water aerobics and the dinner theater, and always loved visiting with his many children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and all of his family and friends. He was an active member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Pasadena, Texas and served as a vestryman and lay reader. Clarence also was an ordained deacon in the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston and a lifetime member of VFW, American Legion, and Elks Club.
