Lowell – Adam Kessler, 88, died Monday at the home of Mrs. Katie Graves, Collinsville, where he had been the past two months.
He was born in Rome, Dec. 23, 1858, a son of John and Christina Wickman Kessler. He lived at West Leyden until he was nine years old and had since lived at Lowell. He married Mary Kinney in 1885, and she died a number of years ago.
For a number of years, he was stage driver between Lowell and Rome. He was the last of his family and leaves only nieces and nephews.
The body has been brought to the Alger Funeral home, Vernon, where the funeral will be held on Thursday at 2 p.m. Friends are invited and may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Interment will be made in Lowell Cemetery. The Rev. Charles Shumway, will officiate at the service.
Funeral Conducted For Adam Kessler
Lowell – funeral services for Adam Kessler were held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Alger Funeral Home, Vernon, with the Rev. Charles Shumway, Gouveneur, former pastor of the Methodist Church, officiating.
Flowers were received from friends, relatives, the W. S. C. S. and neighbors. The bearers were Humphrey Williams, Lawrence Grimes, Vernon Kessler, Utica and Harry Kessler, Vernon. Interment was in Lowell Cemetery.
Attending from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kessler, Mrs. Julia Oathout, all of Syracuse, Frank Kessler, Baldwinsville and Mrs. Martha Furham, Boonville.
Note that stone has year of birth 1859, and obituary has 1858.
