Last rites were held from the Kilmichael M. E. church on Wednesday, January 27, at three o'clock for Clifton Eugene Cartledge, Sr., 73, who died the preceding day at his residence in Kilmichael. Rev. Earl Oakes assisted by Rev. E. C. Abernathy officiated. Interment was made under the direction of McGahey and Lott Funeral Home.
He is survived by three daughters, Miss Lillian Cartledge, Kilmichael, Miss Wren Cartledge, Jackson, and Mrs. Alene Underwood, Mena, Ark.; one son, Clifton E. Cartledge Jr., Jackson, and one brother, Clyde Cartledge, French Camp.
Pallbearers were Grady Ellis, D. T. Mitchell, John Flowers, Gene Allen, T. J. Holmes and D. A. Branscome.
