Maria came to the United States in 1962 and settled in Steubenville. Her career, to which she devoted her entire life, was loving her family.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Joseph; son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Maddalena and their two children, Mary Ellen and Joey of Steubenville; daughter and son-in-law, Marilena and Robert Walters of Columbus and their two children, Anne Marie and Michael; son, Joe of Midland, Mich. and his three children, Bethann, Bryan and Bianca and his fiancée, Faye and her two children, Christopher and Hannah. Two sisters, Rosa (Joseph) Angiolillo and Giuseppina Oliveto, and one brother, Donato (Concetta) Oliveto, who all reside in Italy.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by three sisters: Domenica Genovese of Naples, Italy; Caterina Tarantino of Noepoli, Italy; and Sr. Mansueta Oliveto of Foggia, Italy.
To her family and friends Maria was ever-supportive and a genuine blessing. Her only desire was to be of service to those she loved and make them happy. When others looked to her for inspiration, for answers and encouragement, she lifted them up in spirit and in prayers. She brought her family closer to God. She loved selflessly and unconditionally all the days of her life. The emptiness she leaves in the lives of those who love her will forever keep her in our memory and alive in our hearts.
