Richard Leon Keahey was born October 20th, 1943 in Phillips, Texas to Leon and Leona Keahey. He passed away January 29th, 2021 in Cheyenne, Oklahoma at the age of 77 years, three months and nine days.
Richard grew up in the Crawford area. After graduating high school from Crawford, he attended college in Okmulgee and studied drafting. He enlisted in the United States Navy and was very proud of his service to his country and loved to talk about that time. He had a lengthy career as a carpenter and was very much appreciated by many for his talents. He began working for Roger Mills County at District 3 and always enjoyed the comradery of all the guys. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, gardening, woodworking, raising birds, dancing and spending time with his Beloved Sparky.
Richard married Lura Jordan in 1965 and they had two children, Jackie and Clinton. In 1985, Richard was married to Betty V. Keahey until her death in 2015 and had two stepchildren, Lisa and Kevin. Richard was married to Betty Henson on January 15, 2021.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 30 years, one sister, Sandra Hammond, and one brother, Kenneth Keahey.
Richard is survived by Betty of the home, four children, Jackie and Tally Reagan, Clinton Keahey and Nichole, Lisa Calvert, Bill Duke and Kevin Calvert; eight grandchildren, Brayden, Jessica, Kristen, Sam, Zach, Ryleigh, Haley and Jenna; three great grandchildren, Gabe, Salem and Jackson; one sister, Ann Merritt and J.E. Merritt and host of other relatives and friends.
