After graduation, Carol's proficiency in shorthand and her outstanding spelling skills earned her the enviable position as private secretary to an executive of the Carnation Milk Co. When she no longer needed to be a stay-at-home mom, she found work as a church secretary.
She married Eugene Schultz on July 15, 1950. Eugene and Carol would go on to have three children. They often opened their home to family and friends, and Carol was famous for her fabulous summer pool parties. Carol was a wonderful aunt to her siblings and siblings-in-law 's many offspring.
A long-time resident of Brookfield, Wisconsin, Carol and Gene moved to Indiana in the last few years of Carol's life to be closer to family members. While living in Brookfield, Carol was a proud member of Woodlawn Lutheran Church in West Allis. She also was a member of the Republican Party and did her part to promote her chosen candidates.
