Anita Dyess Breeland

Anita Dyess Breeland, age 59 passed away Saturday, January 23, 2021 at her residence in Bassfield, MS. She worked 10 years as a communications supervisor with Forrest General Hospital and was also a homemaker. Anita was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Ms. Breeland was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest Lee Dyess and Doris Raynes Dyess. Surviving family includes her daughter, Bridgett Summers (Dewayne) of Bassfield; five sisters, Judy Jouglard (Donald) of Hattiesburg, MS, Annette Davis (Ray) of Carson, MS, Geneva Graves (Leffie), Kathy Holland (Jerry), both of Bassfield, and Deborah Yates of Magee, MS; two brothers, Walter “Sonny” Dyess (Shirley), and Paul Dyess (Karessa), both of Bassfield; and three grandchildren, Taitum Summers, Jaxon Summers, and Finley Summers. Funeral services for Anita will be held at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at Colonial Funeral Home in Columbia, MS where family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until service time. Brother Wesley Matheny will preside over services and interment will follow at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.
