Thomas J. Holmes

Mr. Thomas J. Holmes, resident of Greenwood, died of heart failure Thursday, June 16, 1993 at Golden Age Nursing Home in Greenwood. He was the widower of the late Mrs. Daisy Felts Holmes.

Mr. Holmes, who was 99, was a retired upholsterer for Ford Motor Company and a member of Kilmichael United Methodist Church. He was also a U.S. Army veteran of World War I and a member of the American Legion.

Survivors include his stepson, Rev. James Price of Hattiesburg; his sister, Mrs. Irene H. Laster of Greenwood; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were conducted at Kilmichael United Methodist Church Saturday, June 19, at 10:00 a.m. with the Revs. James Price and Walt Phillips presiding. Burial followed in the Friendship Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers were Bruce Riley, Billy Hodges, Richard Manning, Forrest McClurg, Reynolds Boyd and Jack Laster.

Lee Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
